China has introduced 16 new measures to further liberalise trade and facilitate business operations in the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP). Announced on 29 October 2026, the measures cover bonded industrial activities, international trade, energy and selected services. They introduce new possibilities for activities such as bonded maintenance, automotive component testing and LNG-related operations, while supporting Hainan's development as an international trade and investment hub. The changes may be relevant to foreign companies considering new operations in China, as well as businesses already established in the country looking to review their trading, logistics and industrial structures.
